Kevin Marcello

Kevin Marcello has been on Long Island job sites since he was twenty-two years old. Born and raised in Huntington, he graduated from SUNY Farmingdale in construction management and went straight into residential building.

He spent twelve years working for other people's companies — framing, roofing, concrete, finish carpentry. He was good at the work, but he had a problem with the way most contractors operated: too many jobs overlapping, crews stretched thin, and homeowners who called three times to find out when someone was showing up.

In 2011, Kevin started Long Island Shed Builders with four employees and a simple rule: schedule honestly, staff each job properly, and show up when you said you would. The rule has held. Every year since, the crew has grown and the schedule has stayed tight.

Kevin still walks every finished job before the crew packs up. It's not a policy he wrote down — it's how he learned to build.

He and his wife Donna run the company together out of Hauppauge. Their crew of 14 full-time builders handles every project in Nassau and Suffolk County. No subcontractors, no handoffs, no surprises.
